Other Midwifery Education Programs
Saskatchewan does not have its own education program. This is a problem for women wanting to train as midwives who cannot leave the province. Although there are midwifery schools in the United States who have distance education programs clinical experience can be difficult to arrange and The Saskatchewan College of Midwives does not recognize these programs at this time. We would urge anyone considering this route to be fully aware of the problems and to consult the IMPP or the MMBP programs to determine their eligibility requirements to then transition into one of those programs for eventual registration in a Canadian province. |
