Your actions combined with other concerned Saskatchewan residents are critically important in establishing, maintaining and protecting access to Registered Midwives for your own family and all families in Saskatchewan.

Efforts you undertake at your community level will make a real difference to the future of midwifery.

Here are a few suggestions you can undertake to show your support:

• SHARE YOUR BIRTH STORIES with friends, family members, and co-workers. Even if you haven't had a midwife care for you personally, you can spread the word that midwifery is government funded. You will be cared for by a midwife employed by one of the Health Regions offering safe, professional, family-centered care for women in Saskatchewan. In areas of Saskatchewan where there are no Health Region employed midwives, women will pay for midwifery services to a private, self employed midwife. We must encourage the government to fund ALL midwifery services. Contact your local government representative about this today.
  
  
• BECOME A SUPPORTING MEMBER of MAS. Join the association for $50 per year. Your annual subscription will assist us in the promotion and education about midwifery in Saskatchewan. It will also help provide professional services to support our province's Registered Midwives. Although we are not a registered charity (we are a non-profit association), we also accept donations and will provide a receipt. To find out more, email info@saskatchewanmidwives.com.

Memberships are renewed in October of each year.

Voting members consist of practicing and non-practicing persons wih midwifery training and experience. Voting membership fees are $100.00 Non-voting members consist of students and others intgerested in midwifery. Their fee is $50.00.
